BJC Unlimited Inc. presents TESTIFY: A Collection of Cautionary Tales (The Book of Poetic Therapy) written by Benjamin Cisrow IV. The autobiographical stories in the book tell of the journey of a young, Black man within the LGBTQ community during the chaos of the 1990s and early 2000s primarily between the cities of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Atlantic City, New Jersey. This body of work along with the companion text, The Motivational Messages Series Workbook, are Benjamin’s first, official published writings. A resident of Southern New Jersey, Benjamin Cisrow IV is a recording artist, teacher, and writer with a passion for Social Work. He holds a master’s degree in that field from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. He has worked within the mental health profession for twenty-plus years in various capacities and has been teaching as an adjunct professor for ten years providing collegiate level instruction in Social Work and Sociology. He also has extensive experience as a vocalist and began singing professionally at the age of thirteen within the Philadelphia and tri-state area including the states of Delaware and New Jersey. His international experience has included traveling to London, England, and the U.S. Virgin Islands where he was featured as a soloist. Benjamin Cisrow IV is a minister who utilizes creative artistry to impact society in a positive manner and to bring honor and glory to God. The encouragement offered through his work is based upon a Christian foundation. The publication of TESTIFY: A Collection of Cautionary Tales (The Book of Poetic Therapy) is yet another dimension of Benjamin’s ministry/artistry presented with the intention of impacting the lives of all who are exposed to it to the glory of God.
